Grade: I will read your essays and provide feedback. But, as far as a grade is concerned, you will earn a 40/40 if you focus in class and use the writing tool to the help you organize. Your essays should address both sides of the argument and provide decent evidence. I will not see your phones or see you listening to music while you are in the lab.

With increasing advances in science come increasing questions of what should be allowed in genetic manipulation. Before researching the topic of genetic engineering, think to yourself, "Are there reasons to allow scientists to change the genetic codes of embryos?" What could be the benefits? What could be the dangers? Is it morally acceptable to modify the genetic codes of human beings? Your answer is your claim.
Step #1: Open the Online Inquiry Tool by RIGHT clicking the "Online Inquiry Tool" button below and clicking "open link in new tab." This tool is where you will take notes on each article you read or each video you watch. When you are done taking notes, click "Add Perspective" to add a new organizer for a new source.
Step #2: SAVE YOUR WORK EVERY DAY!
Naming Protocol: Everyday students will save the work they've entered into the "Online Inquiry Tool" graphic organizer.
To save your work, please use the following Naming Protocol:
1. Click on "Save Chart" in the upper left of the "Online Inquiry Tool." Use the following title for your chart: [First Initial + Last Name of Teacher] [Block] [Assigned Student Number] - EXAMPLE: dwaltonC12
2. After saving, Open document icon that appears in the bottom left of your screen. When it opens, right click on the screen. Save document in your Z drive using the same title you gave it when saving on the "online inquiry tool." (See #1 above)
